Tanya Bindra is a filmmaker and photographer based between Brooklyn and Los Angeles.
She most recently story produced Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time (National Geographic | Disney+, 2025), a five-part documentary series chronicling the story of Hurricane Katrina through never-before-seen archival footage. Other producing credits also include the narrative short Hustle Mode (Vimeo Staff Pick | New/Next Film Festival, 2024), and the feature documentaries Still (Apple TV+ | Sundance, 2023) and 2nd Chance (Showtime | Sundance, 2022).
Tanya began her career in news, spending over a decade working as a photographer and cinematographer across more than 25 countries, documenting migration, postcolonial politics, and conflict/post-conflict. Formerly based in West Africa and with roots in Switzerland, Canada, and the UK, she continues to collaborate on documentary and editorial projects locally, nationally, and internationally.
She holds a bachelor's degree from McGill University.
