Tanya Bindra is a filmmaker, producer, journalist, and photographer based between Los Angeles and Brooklyn.
She recently produced the 5-part documentary series Katrina (National Geographic | Disney+ 2025) chronicling the story of Hurricane Katrina through never-before-seen archival footage. Other producing credits include the narrative short Hustle Mode (New/Next Film Festival 2024) and feature-length documentaries Still (Apple TV+ | Sundance 2023) and 2nd Chance (Showtime | Sundance 2022).
Tanya began her career in news, spending a decade as a photographer and cinematographer reporting on migration, postcolonial politics, and conflict in 20+ countries for outlets such as the Associated Press, The Washington Post, and The New York Times.
Previously based in West Africa and with roots in Switzerland, India, Canada, and the UK, Tanya collaborates on documentary and editorial projects locally, nationally, and internationally. She is currently working on her debut book of photography and has several scripted and unscripted film projects in development. She holds a bachelor's degree from McGill University.
