Tanya Bindra is a filmmaker and photographer based between Brooklyn and Los Angeles.
She most recently produced Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time (National Geographic | Disney+, 2025), a five-part documentary series chronicling the story of Hurricane Katrina through never-before-seen archival footage. Her producing credits also include the feature documentaries Still (Apple TV+ | Sundance, 2023) and 2nd Chance (Showtime | Sundance, 2022), as well as the narrative short Hustle Mode (Vimeo Staff Pick | New/Next Film Festival, 2024).
Tanya began her career in news, spending over a decade working as a photographer and cinematographer across more than 25 countries, documenting migration, postcolonial politics, and conflict. Formerly based in West Africa and with roots in Switzerland, Canada, and the UK, she continues to collaborate on documentary and editorial projects both locally and globally.
She holds a bachelor's degree from McGill University.
